Job Description

The NBCU Local Technology & Operations organization provides the Technology & Workflow Solutions, Support, Media Operations, Production, Studio and Facilities services that power NBCU Local content creation and distribution.

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the Technology team in New York, NY, supporting WNBC & WNJU. As a Broadcast Technician, you will be primarily responsible for implementing and supporting broadcast technology and users within our mission critical, media production environment. Job Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of field, newsgathering, and media production systems, ensuring reliability of technology and operations.
  • Support of remote sites including microwave, remote camera and transmitter plants.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation for operational and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Provide efficient and effective technical support, incident response, and customer communication, ensuring appropriate utilization of NBCU service delivery platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with NBCUniversal cyber security policies and standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Required onsite. This position is required to be performed full time onsite from an NBCUniversal designated work site.
  • Salary Range: 116k - 126.7k 
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, radio, television & film, related fields or equivalent experience.

 

Skills & Experience we are looking for:

  • Support of mid to major market news or live event production operations & 24x7 mission critical technology facilities.
  • Expertise in support of media technology including SDI video infrastructures, contribution & distribution encoding, live production systems, field / news gathering tools, and transmission systems including high power television transmitters.
  • History of successfully contributing to complex projects resulting in satisfied stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours, and on weekends with short notice
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

  • Must be able to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
